Description

Sob, another one- :iconimsotiredplz:
For Pokelia this time! Hopefully I'll make it in! ,u,/

His info is... really... really long.... ._.

Name:
Aramis Blanchard

Age:
26

Gender:
Male

Birthday:
February 14th (no, really)

Height:
5'10" | 6'1" in heels

Weight:
"A Gentleman never tells~" | Surprisingly light, lean build - the stress he puts up with left him a bit on the thin side, but it does not affect his combat ability.

Relationship Status: Single

Orientation: Pansexual

Occupation: Military General

Country: Roquelaure

Pokemon: #640 Virizion :iconvirizionplz:

Ability: Justified - He gains a boost to his attack when hit by a Dark-type move.

Type: :icongrasstypeplz:/:iconfightingtypeplz:

Move set:

- :iconfightingtypeplz: Superpower* - A powerful attack with a tremendous amount of force behind it. His body is surrounded by a light blue aura that lights up even his eyes, signifying the amount of energy charged inside of him, which he unleashes in a few different ways - either with the use of his sabres, or hand-to-hand combat. The power is more than enough to leave a significant crater in the ground and send his foe flying just with aftershock. The inhuman strength is particularly surprising in his case, as most do not expect it coming from his lithe frame. Continuous usage tends to tire him out however, making him slightly sloppier when it comes to physical defense and drops the potential of attack power.
- :iconfightingtypeplz: Sacred Sword - His sabres glow with a bright aura as he slices at his opponent, the strikes piercing strong and true, ignoring any boosts to defense and evasion the foe might have acquired during their fight - you cannot stop justice from reaching you. Capable of materialising it even when not holding an actual weapon.
- :icongrasstypeplz: Leaf Blade -
As he attacks, his sabres become surrounded by a wavy light green aura, reminiscent of leaves, that leaves behind a trail of energy whenever he slashes the opponent. The chance of landing a critical hit is very high and it by far his most favoured move. Capable of materialising it even when not holding an actual weapon.
- :iconnormaltypeplz: Swords Dance
- He moves around with the grace of a dancer, performing a series of light steps and swirls of his blade that create multiple wispy illusions of the weapon, spinning around him until they merge into one sending him aglow - it renews some of his energy supply and sharply rises the potential of his attack power. He can use it multiple times and were he to charge up completely, the force of his attacks is tremendous.

*Tutor Move

Personality:

:bulletgreen: Empathetic | Charming | Reasonable | Patient
:bulletwhite: Intelligent | Clever | Sharp-witted | Independent
:bulletred: Bold | Vain | Sarcastic | Stubborn

Aramis seems like a pretty laid-back individual, not taking anything very seriously (his job included), but that couldn't be further from the truth. Inside he is a very passionate man, be it about art or his ideas and criticizing either of them often results in turning him into a diva - the offending side having no choice but to apologize. Still, it is mostly appearances, as he can distinguish important matters from those that are not and will hold a grudge only if the insult was of utmost weight. Often he finds himself not taken seriously, which is both a blessing and a curse - having people underestimate him gives him the upper hand at surprise, as he is a capable soldier and a strategist, but at the same time makes his life much more difficult when he wants to introduce any changes. Though worn down by the constant stress he is put under, he finds the most in life and tends to disappear mysteriously for a day or two for recreation, even at the cost of his reputation. A reasonably polite and charming fellow, a Gentleman to the boot, he is rare to lose his temper and were anger to appear, one should be warned that Aramis most likely means business. Capable of trading empathy for cold, mathematical thinking which along with his input towards the work benefits cause had won him over the respect of his troops. He puts on a good face to a bad game more often than not - underneath the glamorous appearance he is actually a pretty sensitive and self-concious individual due to his treatment through the years. By following the rule 'fake it until you make it' he gained an illusion of thick skin and is pretty confident in his appearance - jabs at his abilities or background however strike deep and he takes them personally.

History:

Aramis's road to glory and fame could be compared more to climbing a particularly edgy and steep mountain, even since his earliest days. He was born a fruit of a brief fling between Louis-Joseph Blanchard, a Virizion held in high regard by the noble circles for his large investments into the Roquelaure military and a Florges tailor, Marie Couture. Conceived during a business trip of his sire to Fauguernon, the man was not aware of the child until five years later, when the mother had come to Beaufort in search for financial support and hopes of a solid future for her son. As a married man, Louis-Joseph had disregarded her claims in order to avoid a social scandal, however provided enough coin through private channels to assure her silence and afford a humble life.

The years spent with his mother were possibly the happiest, as the woman with her love for crafts had awakened a similar passion in the little Virizion. It was discovered at a young age that the boy was talented with the usage of his voice and words, and at the cost her own financial stability, Marie had assigned him to a tutor that would further help develop his musical qualities. However to her dismay, the life of an artist was not Aramis's choice of career at that point of his life, as in his misguided attempts to provide her a better life, he had turned to his father instead - Louis-Joseph's approach towards the boy had not changed over the years, and at twelve years old he decided to enrol into a military school in a desperate hope of impressing his sire.

And thus begun the Virizion's endless quest to prove his worth to those around him, as being a bastard son, that of a lithe build and soft hands made for making music and writing poetry brought him no favours in the place of sought dominance, ploys and corruption. His flaming style, be it in his approach to life or fashion was met with general distaste, as military was no place for feminine individuals such as himself, as even though it made his life much harder than it should be, the boy refused to be shaped into their perfect image - the lessons planted by his mother had led him through and as his pride suffered, he kept true to himself.

During physical training it became apparent that even though he would never be as well-built as his fellow recruits, his hands were not only capable with a pen, but also with a sword. Aramis's hidden talent had resulted in a nearly spotless duel record through the years in the school and as he finally started to find himself adequate and gained some respect, life would throw a new stone under his feet. Louis-Joseph Blanchard had grown old, his arranged marriage resulting in a fruitless union that brought many troubling thoughts to his mind, mainly the matter of lacking a heir to continue on his financial legacy. It was then when he remembered the bastard son that had sought his attention so, and put under the wall had laid his claim, the boy no longer known as just Aramis
Couture but as Aramis Blanchard. The sole reason for joining the military fulfilled had left a bitter after-taste in his mouth, as it were not his accomplishments that pulled his father's hand, but pure business - he would not be loved as a son should, but as an accidental investment that had finally paid off. He also found himself the source of a long overdue scandal, that had made the ground under his feet shake and lose the shreds of respect he gained through talent and hard work.

A new fire lit inside of him - he would no longer live on the hope of his father's respect, but for his own. Keen on making himself a place in the hostile environment, thus begun his climb in ranks. He was extravagant, not only in looks but also in mind, as his ideas could be considered controversial because of their futuristic nature. His upbringing made his sympathetic to the poor's plight, and though many called him a hypocrite (as he dressed himself like a peacock on everyday basis), he was true in his goal of change for the better. Having been named a general at the tender age of twenty-four had caused a new wave of social uproar sent his way - not only was he a bastard son, but he was bold in his approach towards peasants and unlike many, considered them human beings who too should have a chance at life. His career hung on a thin thread, as he was equally loved and hated by people of all statuses, only worsened by the fact that were his father to remarry and conceive another child, he would lose his status as a heir and noble.

He made it his objective to do as much as he could while still in power, introducing the idea of Insurance Policies for those crippled in war efforts or those who had paid the highest price, leaving families behind, no matter their rank. It was not accepted, no surprise considering the nature of the country, however he holds to a hope that the people would grow a consciousness by the time of his retirement.

He continues on, still bold both in words as well as thoughts, and having gained a handsome yearly income allowed himself to fall back to his original passion - art. Perpetually late for meetings, a quality that too only added fuel to the fire, he made a name for himself under a pseudonym and keeps in touch with his mother whenever he can. His life never stopped being a constant fight for self-worth and respect, though his reputation in the Military had raised considerably - mostly for beating it into them (physically), but also for the sharp, strategic mind that hides under the fabulous, feathered hat.

Likes:

:bulletgreen: Fine Arts - Although not very talented when it comes to the usage of a brush or a chisel (and he had tried, tried so hard), he is an avid fan of any hand-crafted goodness, and he considers his access to the Royal Palace and its grand décor one of the few blessings in his life. His personal library is filled with poetry of all kinds, and he is much more competent at carving words than marble.

:bulletgreen: Music - Fates had gifted him with a beautiful voice and talented fingers, perfect for both wielding a sabre as well as stroking the piano keys. He was tutored in playing violin and sometimes in his spare time composes songs. When not capable of making music of his own, he enjoys listening and participating - he is quite the dancer, or so goes the talk.

:bulletgreen: Fashion - A passion inherited from his mother, he is up to date about latest trends and has most of his parade outfits hand-made. While his private appearance is definitely less gaunt, he lets it all out while in public. Do you feel self-conscious about your clothes yet?

:bulletgreen: Nature - He is in love with greenery, be it food or his surroundings and will often cut work time in favour of taking a walk through gardens. His constant need for new exquisite sights causes him to wander whenever time is available.

:bulletgreen: Justice - He does not call himself a 'Sword of Justice' for nothing. He is an avid supporter of equality and personal freedom and while there might be laws that he disagrees with, unreasonable injustice is not something he will put up with on his watch. There are rumours that it turns him on. :eyes:

:bulletgreen: Tailoring - Before enrolling into military school, he spent his childhood helping out at his mother's shop and learned some of the craft. While never having reached a master level himself, he has a good eye for quality work and materials.

Dislikes:

:bulletred: Dishonesty - A trait so often found in the noble circles, and one he grew particularly tired of, especially when coming from his own father. Although his appearance might suggest otherwise, he would rather avoid attending social meetings all together if he could afford to do so, as he can smell the fake compliments fill up the air.

:bulletred: Social Castes - Even though he had endured his own hardships, he is very well aware that he was born privileged and does not have to go through what the poorest ones do. The raging difference in the status of Aristocracy and Peasants is one of the things that bother him the most about Roquelaure.

:bulletred: Politicians - Empty promises and full accounts, Aramis considers them to simply over-complicate things, though his rank forces him to be in their frequent companionship. One could say it's personal, as his usual experiences with that group were less than favourable throughout the making of his career.

:bulletred: Step-family
- Louis-Joseph Blanchard - His father could be considered both his saviour and a villain and is responsible for most of the turmoil in Aramis's life. The Virizion is a rich weaponry manufacturer with large investments in Roquelaure military and as the only heir his son is part of the family business, soon to be in charge due to inheritance. That is one of the most often arguments used against his favour due to the controversies surrounding it - a General with his own factories to provide arms, what stops him from creating a conflict and creating more business for himself, leaving competition in the dust? Unfavourable rumours say that Louis-Joseph had bought the position for Aramis through money and contacts, securing a safe place for his manufacture. It is because of that as well as the treatment of his mother and the stigma of being an illegitimate child that the father and son are not on good terms. Neither of them hold love for eachother, Louis-Joseph's approach towards Aramis changing depending on his companions - if they support him, he boats - if they disapprove, he regrets. The younger Virizion keeps in contact only when it is required of him, chained with responsibilities and obligations of a heir. Family dinners are incredibly awkward, the senior's criticism and pressure erasing any traces of the junior's usual smile.
- Batrice Blanchard
- Hate is not a word strong enough to describe Béatrice's feelings towards Aramis and she considers him her very own, personal disaster - ironic, considering the fact that she's an Absol. Unable to bear children, faced with an illegitimate son of her unloving husband, each scandal making her more of a laughingstock in the eyes of noble society, she had fallen from grace. Rarely leaving the house and overusing alcohol, she had made it her personal mission to destroy the Virizion's life (or at very least, his mood). Although she lashes out at him both with words as well as physically whenever the two see eachother, the General cannot bring himself to loathe his step-mother - he understands her feelings and does not hold her at fault, thus never fights back. Still, he tries hard to not cause confrontations and avoids her however possible.

:bulletred:
Based/Unfair critique - If you don't bring solid, researched facts to the table don't even bother speaking to him on such a topic, unless you want to apologize. Having been exposed to disapproval since early age, the treatment had left a scar on his mind and he will not approach the matter with as much reason as he usually holds.

:bulletred:
Unfortunate Fashion Mistakes - Fashion police, fashion police - what, what, what are you wearing?
Having been raised by a tailor, he is particularly sensitive when it comes to the choice of colours and garments that people adorn themselves with - he feels embarrassed for others when faced with a particularly impressive monstrosity.

Fears:

:bulletpurple: His noble status being taken away from him, taking everything he had earned by hard work along with it.

:bulletpurple: Seriously injuring either of his hands, which causes him to wear gloves almost the whole time. They are the tools of his craft, be it art or military, and he had developed a paranoia for keeping them safe.

Trivia:

- Cross-dressing - Aramis acts and looks feminine enough to have been mistaken for a woman frequently, no matter at which stage of his life. Usually, he just goes with it and actually uses it to his advantage. Unknown to the public, he has quite the collection of dresses in his wardrobe, handmade by his mother for the need of discrecy, as were the secret to come out he would be faced with yet another boiling scandal. He created various personas with differing stories and names, his appearance based on other Pokemon of similar colour schemes and types. So far the disguises include a Gardevoir, Roserade, Bellossom, Breloom, Ludicolo and a Serperior. He uses them in order to troll at parties, gather secrets from the gossiping females or simply when he needs to go undercover. His appearance is solid and he puts up with wearing corsets to create an illusion of a thin waist, though his tragically flat chest had been a source of many snide comments - which did not lessen the interest in the slightest, as the Virizion has a long list of tragically broken hearts bearing on his concious.

- Disguises - His fair share of experience with dressing up had left him with considerable skills when it comes to cosmetics and making one appear as someone they are not - with the help of paints and wigs, he's capable of concealing one's true appearance to a certain degree, a skill he does not boast about publicly but rather considers an useful hobby.

- His mother used him as a model for her clothes no matter the gender, most frequently in his childhood though he had to serve as a mannequin for some noblewoman even after joining the military.

- Although put under pressure of finding himself a wife, like with many things in his life, he is not too concerned over that fact.
As the illegitimate son, he is not a popular candidate among the noble circles anyhow.

- His art pseudonym is "Épée de Justice", as he is a one, incredibly cheesy individual.
Those who are lucky enough to get their hands on his work will notice it usually signed as 'É.D.J'.

- His fighting style is dependant mostly on speed and power and his obvious love for high heels and tall boots does not seem to diminish his ability to easily outrun puny mortals - perhaps a power granted by some kind of deity.

- He can not show up at work for days when struck by a wild source of inspiration - when he does come back eventually, it's with masterpieces in tow.
It's not a quality he's entirely proud of, nor is it appreciated by the general public, but he just can't help himself.

- Ambidextrous. Usually fights with only one sabre, but were the shit to get serious, he will bring out the other one. Most likely with a dramatic flaunt of his cape.

- He has the grace of a dancer even while fighting (especially while fighting), a fact he is immensely proud of. Might or might not walk like a catwalk fashion model on daily basis.

- Voted 'Most Likely to Die An Early Death By Assassination'.

Theme song:
- Oliver & Company - Perfect Isn't Easy
- Aerosmith - Dude (Looks Like a Lady)
